Introduction to the Math and Science Olympiad Events – this is the first year your child may participate
Please have your child read aloud to you for 20 minutes every day. Please sit next to them to make sure that they are reading each word correctly. Ask your child questions about what they have read to help with comprehension. Also question them about words they may not know or understand.
Practicing multiplication and division problems from 0 to 12 will help your child tremendously. We are encouraging you to practice math problems with your child any time you can, waiting for appointments, driving in the car, during meal time, etc. Your child should have these memorized and the answers should be automatic and quick. They should know the math facts as well as they know the letters of the alphabet.
