This is the first book in the Ranger’s Apprentice series. It’s a about a guy named Will who wants to become a knight but ends up as an apprentice to a Ranger- a group who helps protect the kingdom. The story has action and adventure- it’s an awesome book. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey by Trenton Lee Stewart
This is the second book in a series about four kids who are very smart and are trying to save the world. It’s a fun adventure with riddles that the kids need to solve. Readers of all ages will like this series. I read all three books as fast as I could. Little Brother by Cory Doctorow
This book was entertaining, informative, and thought provoking. It’s about Marcus who leads a group of teenagers (and anyone under 25) through the Xnet against the DHS (Department of Homeland Security). Terrorists have blown up the Bay Bridge and Marcus is thought to be part of the terrorist groups and is held secretly in prison. He is finally released and starts to carry out his revenge against the DHS who consider him a terrorist. It explains several alternative technologies that are used in the book. This story could happen tomorrow or could be happening right now. |
