Evans Above by Rhys Bowen

Book Jacket
This is the first book in the Constable Evans Mysteries. Evan Evans leaves the city to be a policeman in a small Welsh village that is full of quaint characters that he has to learn to deal with. The village is so small he is afraid that it will be boring, but soon he is called to investigate crimes that are equal to the city he has left. Rhys Bowen is a great mystery writer and the setting in Wales gives it a different twist. The titles of the books are always clever and have a twist on the Evans name. Try one and you will be looking for more.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey by Trenton Lee Stewart

This is the second book in a series about four kids who are very smart and are trying to save the world. It’s a fun adventure with riddles that the kids need to solve. Readers of all ages will like this series. I read all three books as fast as I could.

Book Crush by Nancy Pearl

This book is cool because it is just lists of recommended reading. It’s divided by age and genre, so you can find books that are just what you want. It’s for teens and kids, and there is another book that is for adults.

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart

After passing a series of mind-bending tests, four children are selected for a secret mission that requires them to go undercover at the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened, where the only rule is that there are no rules. The characters are so likable, and the puzzles make you think. It’s fun and the first in a trilogy that you’ll read as fast as you can.
