  • We annotated the article of the week from yesterday.
  • 5th period read in Tangerine. (only 5th period made it to the novel)

9th Grade:

  • Bell-work on Google classroom.
  • Class was given the new AofW.
  • We read in Fahrenheit 451.

7th Grade: 

  • We did not have bell-work today.
  • Schriver handed out the Article of the week for this week.
  • We read August 19 in Tangerine.

9th Grade: 

  • Bell-work on Google classroom.
  • We worked on the Fahrenheit 451 journal.
  • We read from the novel.
  • Schriver gave class time to finish the scavenger hunt assignment from Friday.

7th Grade:

    • We started our novel called Tangerine by Edward Bloor. We read the “Out of Focus” and the intro. We also read Friday August, 18.

9th Grade: 

    • Bell work is on Google classroom. https://classroom.google.com
    • Students were given 10 minutes to work on their Article of the week. Due tomorrow.
    • We read pages 25-32 in Fahrenheit.

9th Grade:

  • We read pages 21-25 in Fahrenheit 451.

  • We watched the “Book Report Song” and answered the questions. You can find both by logging into your google classroom. 
  • We went to the library to do orientation. Please see Mrs. Schriver if you were absent. 

9th Grade: 

  • We did bell work on google classroom. You can find it by logging into your google classroom.
  • Mrs. Schriver handed out the Article of the Week. Please pick one up and talk to Mrs. Schriver if you were absent. 
  • We read Pages 14-18 in Fahrenheit 451.

1.In Love Story what is the author’s story? Tell me what the song is about. Remember this is not a re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, it is inspired by the play but each song has its own story. What is this song’s story?

2.Does the author of “Love Story” reference exact scenes in the play? If so which ones?

3.Why did the author choose those scenes to reference? What is the significance with those particular scenes?

Bell Work:  Read the following passage and answer the questions.

God knows when we shall meet again.

I have a faint cold fear thrills through my veins,

That almost freezes up the heat of life.

I’ll call them back again to comfort me. –

Nurse! – What should she do here?

My dismal scene I needs must act alone.

Come, vial. What if this mixture do not work at all? 

1.Describe how Juliet is feeling based on these lines.

2.Write 3 words or phrases that help you understand how she is feeling.

3.Why do the previous words help you to infer her feelings?
