12/16/14 – Ice Block Data Table Ccalculations & Analyzing Velocity-Time Graphs

Periods 1-2

Today we learned how to calculate acceleration using the data from the Ice Blocking Lab. If you missed class, write the title “Participation 12/16″ at the top of a piece of notebook paper and ON THE PAPER do the following to earn you participation points for today; then turn in the paper to the wire basket:

  • Watch the video on Page 3.6.4 in Weber Online (from 11:00 to the end) and calculate the accelerations on TABLES 1 AND 2 ONLY of the Ice Blocking Lab (you will need the data, found here: Ice Block Data for Calculations). Check your answers in Assignment 3.6.4 in Weber Online (both online and paper parts are  due tomorrow), then turn the lab in to the wire basket.
  • When you are done, put your “Participation 12/15″ paper in the wire basket.

12/12/14 – Science Fair Final Report & Velocity-Time Graph Matching with Motion Detectors

Periods 1-6

Today we learned how to combine our science fair papers. We also used motion detectors to create graphs of ourselves walking and tried to match them to pre-drawn Velocity-Time graphs. If you missed class, write the title “Participation 12/12″ at the top of a piece of notebook paper and ON THE PAPER do the following to earn you participation points for today; then turn in the paper to the wire basket:

  • Today’s POD: POD 12-12-14
  • Watch the video on Page 1.1.9 in Weber Online and use it to create your Science Fair Final Report (this is pretty short; its just pasting together your previous Science Fair papers in the right order). Share the Final Report with Mr. Ward.
  • In the classroom (after school or during study hall), use a motion detector to match your motion to pre-drawn graphs in Logger Pro. See Mr. Ward for help.
  • When you are done, show your graphs too Mr. Ward for a stamp on your “Participation 12/12″ paper . Then put your “Participation 12/12″ paper in the wire basket.
