To make up today’s lost points, go to Page 1.2 in Weber Online and view the slide show “2nd Part: Electromagnetic Waves Review slide show” in either PDF or PowerPoint format, take notes on the “Guided Notes: Review of Electromagnetic Waves” (see Page 1.2 in Weber Online to download the Guided Notes worksheet, if needed), and show the notes to Mr. Ward.

We watched 2 videos on from Bill Nye. Please watch them and take notes (write 10 things FROM EACH VIDEO that seem meaningful). Note that the videos will only play on a school computer because of copyright restrictions. The first video is Motion (link here) and the second video is Momentum (link here).

Earth Science

Watch the second 40 minutes of Earth From Space (start at 40 minutes and go to 1 hour 20 minutes) and write down 5 MORE connections between Earth’s spheres (atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere)- that is, 5 more than you wrote when we watched the first 40 minutes of the video on August 30th. Here is the video link:  http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/earth/earth-from-space.html

This week we have been staking out our visions for future learning, reviewing rules and procedures and taking pretests. We will finish the pretests on Monday, but if you missed days this week you will need to finish the test with Mr. Ward as soon as possible.

Required Class Materials, Due Friday Aug. 26

  • A composition notebook or a wire-bound notebook. The key is that all of the pages are bound into the notebook.
  • A 3-ring binder with pockets to hold handouts and works-in-progress.  A single section in a multi-subject binder or a folder will do fine, as long as there are pockets.
  • Your signed disclosure document.

***Remember, if getting these materials will be difficult for your family, please see Mr. Ward for assistance.
