10/20/14 – Displacement Vector Addition

  • Today’s POD: POD 10-20-14
  • Watch the video on Page 2.9 in Weber Online (Moodle)  and take the notes we took in class.
  • Do the 1-Dimensional Displacement vs. Total Distance Travelled worksheet (PAGE 1 ONLY) and check your answers in Assignment 2.9 in Weber Online (Moodle) . Both of these parts are DUE TOMORROW, BUT DO NOT SUBMIT Assignment 2.9 until next week; just check your answers to the problems on the worksheet.
    • To receive participation points, turn in a paper (title: “Participation 10/20″) with the POD and notes, and be sure you have already done the worksheet.
  • No assignments collected today.
  • Due Thursday, 10/23: Final draft of the Proposal Part 2-Method, where you have included the editing done by your peers.

 

10/15/14 – Finished Velocity Test 1

If you missed class, do the following to earn you participation points for today:

All Periods

  • No POD.
  • Take the Velocity Test 1. This must be done in the classroom; see Mr. Ward to arrange a time to make it up. THIS TEST WILL BE INCLUDED IN YOUR 1ST QUARTER GRADE.
  • Due today: Your peer editing on the Proposal Part 2-Method. If you have not done so yet, see Mr. Ward to get help finding other students who you can share your Proposal Part 2-Method with, and who can share theirs with you for peer editing. You are required to edit 2 other people’s papers (5 comments per paper, just like before).
  • ALL LATE WORK WAS DUE TODAY, except science fair assignments (background research, Proposal Part 1, Proposal part 2) and assignments assigned within the last week (Reading Position-Time Graphs, Test Study Guide, Velocity Test) which will be accepted until Weds. Oct. 22. BUT BE WARNED, if you wait until 10/22 to turn in a rough draft, you will have no time to do peer editing or a final draft.

 

10/14/14 – Velocity Test 1

  • No POD.
  • Take the Velocity Test 1. This must be done in the classroom; see Mr. Ward to arrange a time to make it up. THIS TEST WILL BE INCLUDED IN YOUR 1ST QUARTER GRADE.
  • Reminder: Finish your peer editing on the Proposal Part 2-Method. If you have not done so yet, see Mr. Ward to get help finding other students who you can share your Proposal Part 2-Method with, and who can share theirs with you for peer editing. 10/13/14 – Proposal Part 2 Peer Editing

If you missed class, do the following to earn you participation points for today:

All Periods

  • No POD.
  • Share the Proposal Part 2-Method with Mr. Ward (after you have finished writing it, of course) as a Google Doc.
  • See Mr. Ward to get help finding other students who you can share your Proposal Part 2-Method with, and who can share theirs with you for peer editing. You are required to edit 2 other people’s papers (5 comments per paper, just like before); these peer edits are due Weds. Oct. 15. I will check for them in Google Docs.
  • Finish your green Velocity Test 1 Review packet (we worked on this in class) and check your answers in Assignment 2.6 (both Parts 1 and 2) in Weber Online (Moodle) . The paper and online parts are due TOMORROW, 10/14, which is also THE DATE OF THE VELOCITY TEST.

  • Take Quiz 2 and Quiz 2.5 (these cannot be done at home; they are locked). See Mr. Ward to make up these quizzes in the classroom.
  • Start the Proposal Part 2-Method. See the video on Page 1.1.4 in Weber Online (Moodle) showing how to change it into a Google Doc. This is due Monday, 10/13.

  • No POD today.
  • Went to the computer lab and worked on any and all missing or incomplete assignments, including  the Moving Man Online Assignment (on Page 2.1 in Weber Online (Moodle), under the To-Do list at the bottom. There is no worksheet for this; instead, all of the questions are in the online assignment. HOWEVER, YOU MUST STILL WRITE ALL YOUR ANSWERS ON PAPER. See Page 2.1 in Weber Online (Moodle) for a video showing how to do this assignment. BE SURE TO FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY! This is due Monday, 10/6.
  • Homework: Science Fair Proposal, Final Draft, including improvements based on peer edits, due Tuesday, 10/7.
  • Homework:  Shopping Cart Lab, analysis section, due Thursday, 10/9.
