WHS Concert Band Playing Test Information

Following are the areas to be tested on “Celtic Carol”

F. HORNS:  25-33
TRUMPETS:  68 – END (note the change)

This test will determine seating order.

There will be additional tests throughout the quarter on ALL Holiday Concert songs.

Snowcrest Veterans Day Assembly Schedule – Concert band

Following is the schedule for the November 11th Veterans Assembly at Snowcrest.

930 am — Dismissed from class
945 am — Load Bus/Depart WHS
1030am — Arrive Snowcrest- Warmup/tune up
1120 am — Assembly performance
1215 — Depart Snowcrest to return to WHS
1 pm — Arrive WHS for 4th Hour

We will have lunch at Snowcrest — pizza or school lunch — it is still being worked out.

Orion JH Concert – Marching Band Only

Here are the details for the Orion Concert.


DATE:  22 October – THURSDAY
MEET at Orion at 630 pm — in the band/choir room
Students are responsible to get their uniforms AND their instruments to Orion.    Pit Members – we will make sure that the mallets instruments , bass drum, gong and piano are there.   You need to make sure that you all all mallets, beaters, small percussion items (tambourine/triangle, etc) are at the concert.

This is a great opportunity to recruit for next year and for our winter groups.   This should be our best show of the year!!!

Details will be covered in class and EMAILED home on TUESDAY of next week.

Davis Cup Itinerary

The following link will take you to the Davis Cup Itinerary for Tuesday, 20 Oct.


Those who are not testing — we will meet at 830 am to review the changes to the show from last week.   We will also go in full uniform to DHS.  Please bring a change of clothes so that you can change after our performance.    Lunch will be provided for you.   We are planning on the following:

Cobblers – Donated by a former member
water to drink

I suggest you bring a water bottle as well so that you have plenty to drink.   Make sure you are dressed for the weather

I have received several emails concerning the schedule for Saturday.    The information was sent to each students district email.   Below is a copy of that message.   The information has also been re-sent to all in the class via email.



E.M. Marching Practice:    7 – 8 am

LOAD BUS:  815 am

ARRIVE USU:  approx.. 930 am

WARM UP:  1025 am

PERFORM:  1130 am

LUNCH:  1230 pm

AWARDS:  3 pm

DEPART USU:  330 pm

ARRIVE WHS:  430 – Unload trailer
