Spanish 1 Activities & Assignments – February

(RETESTING / MAKE UP QUIZZES ARE WEDNESDAYS AT 2:35 P.M. OR THURSDAYS AT 7:15 A.M. )

2/1 Oral Presentation: tell about your family pets (real or hypothetical) , then work on Third Term Projects: Culture Bowl, Show & Tell, “Aduana” role play, etc.
2/2-2/3 Culture bowl (first round); those students not doing the culture bowl: prepare and practice other projects (Aduana Role plays, Show & Tell, etc.).
2/4 “Aduana” role plays. Then prepare and practice other projects (Show & Tell, Restaurant role play, Round 2 of Culture Bowl, etc.).
2/5 “Aduana” role plays if not done yesterday. Then learn to use the verb “vivir” to tell where people live.

2/8 Show & Tell performances, and/or practice other projects (“Restaurant” role-play, round 2 of culture bowl, etc.)
2/9 Show & Tell performances if not done yesterday, then study for quiz tomorrow.
2/10 Quiz on Unit 5 Vocabulary.
2/11-2/12 “Restaurant” role-plays. Then prepare and practice other projects
(for Round 2 of culture bowl, “School Supply Store,” interview, and/or other projects)

No school 2/15

2/16 Learn about showing possession using “de” (part of learning to discuss family and relatives), do practice worksheet
2/17 Retesting / makeup quiz
2/18 Read article “The Spanish-Speaking World” and answer the questions from the article.
2/19 Round 2 of culture bowl”, and/or work on other projects
(“School Supply Store” role play, interview, and/or other projects)

2/22 Learn vocabulary words for school supplies (Flash cards, and Vocabulary Bingo)
2/23 Learn vocabulary words for school supplies, subjects, and classes. (Power Point, practice assignment, and oral practice with partner)
2/24-2/25 “School Supply Store” role-plays. Then prepare / practice Interview or other projects.
2/25-2/26 Interview activity, then prepare / practice “Sporting Goods Store” role-play or other projects. Also – discuss Language Fair, sign up for competitions.

2/29-3/1 “Sporting Goods Store” role-play. Make up any other projects you need to finish.
Also – finalize rosters for WLF competitions.

2/1 Finish “nutritional content evaluation” assignment, then work on Third Term Projects: Culture Bowl, Show & Tell, “Aduana” role play, etc.

2/2-2/3 Culture bowl (first round); Those students not doing the culture bowl: prepare and practice other projects (Aduana role-plays, Interview, etc.).
2/4 “Aduana” role plays. Then prepare and practice other projects (Show & Tell, Restaurant role play, Round 2 of Culture Bowl, etc.).
2/5 “Aduana” role plays if not done yesterday. Then learn to tell what people should do, need to do, or have to do (deber, necesitar, and tener que).

2/8 Show & Tell performances, and/or practice other projects (“Restaurant” role-play, round 2 of culture bowl, etc.)
2/9 Show & Tell performances if not done yesterday, then study for quiz tomorrow.
2/10 Quiz on Unit 3 Vocabulary.

2/24-2/25 “School Supply Store” role-plays. Then prepare / practice Interview or other projects.
2/25-2/26 Interview activity, then prepare / practice “Sporting Goods Store” role-play or other projects.
Also – discuss Language Fair, sign up for competitions and for helping in booth.

2/29-3/1 “Sporting Goods Store” role-play. Make up any other projects you need to finish.
Also – discuss Language Fair, finalize the rosters for competitions and for helping in the booth.
