 2016 World Language Fair

The World Language Fair will be held at Weber High School

on March 23, 2016 (Wednesday)  from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

There will be many different ways to have fun and practice your Spanish – and great food, too!

Earn points for the fourth term project by participating in the language fair.

ATTENTION: WORLD LANGUAGE FAIR IS MARCH 23 AT WEBER HIGH SCHOOL.

FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE THIRD TERM AND FOURTH TERM PROJECTS

3/1 Present “Sporting Goods Store” role-plays. Do any other absent or late role-plays or interviews.
Discuss Language Fair – Register for competitive events.
3/2 Discuss country report. Choose country, begin learning about it (or practice for language fair).
3/3 Learn to tell time in Spanish (L/D with clock manipulative); practice with partner (both ways).
3/4 Learn to tell time and discuss schedules (Power Point and guided practice worksheet)

3/7 Quiz (school & class vocabulary, and telling time), then discuss oral final exam questions.
3/8 Practice answering final exam questions (review game)
3/9 – 3/10 Oral final exam
3//11 Finish oral final exam for students who were absent or need another chance
(Work on projects if we finish early)

3/14-3/16 Work on projects: Prepare for Language Fair [See WLF Blog for details (http://blog.wsd.net/wlf/)] or work on country projects. Also see the project requirements on my blog.
3/17 Auction! Bring your pesos. Also turn in unused hall pass requests.
3/18 Work on projects: Practice for Language Fair or work on country projects.

Students going to the Fair perform today, for credit and for practice (except culture bowl).
First Draft of PowerPoint must be sent to Mr. Powell by March 21st or 22nd,
and Final Draft by March 24th (e-mailed or shared on google drive:kspowell@wsdstudent.net).
3/22 Prepare for language fair or work on country project. Students who are planning to go the
language fair make their passports.
3/23 Prepare for language fair or work on country project. Students in the culture bowl
perform today, for credit and for practice.

(Power Point and “guided practice” worksheet)
3/4 Bell Activity: Write 3 affirmative commands and 3 negative commands telling someone what to
do and what to not do for their health; share with partner, then with class. Then study, practice for
quiz Monday on affirmative and negative informal commands
