Spanish 1 Lessons, Activities & Assignments – May 2017

5/1 Play soccer ¡Feliz Día Internacional del Trabajador!
(Happy May Day / International Labor Day)

Then practice for quiz tomorrow (Verb Bingo game)
5/3 Quiz on regular verb conjugation (present tense). Also turn in the verb worksheet from last week.

If rain prevents playing soccer on Monday then we will do the Verb Bingo on Monday, the quiz on Tuesday, and the Soccer Game on Wednesday.

5/4 Celebrating Cinco de Mayo one day early, because of scheduling conflicts
tomorrow (dance, game, field trip, etc.) – watch this video:

Then enjoy a fiesta: You may bring Mexican (or “Tex-Mex” or Mexican-American) food to eat; extra credit if you bring enough for everyone in your class.
5/5 Learn about Cinco de Mayo: video [district video – #10772], then read and
discuss pp. C20-C21 in the Avancemos 1A or 1B textbooks. (Those pages
are the same in both books).

5/8 Do practice worksheet if you need to retest (verb quiz).
5/9 Study for retest / makeup (verb quiz).
5/10 Retest / makeup for verb quiz.
5/11 Learn to describe the weather in Spanish (PowerPoint and Worksheet)
5/12 Begin working on “Weather & Seasons Project”
(instructions are on the blog if you don’t have them)

5/15 Continue working on “Weather & Seasons Project”
5/16 Oral activity: Describe the scenes you drew for the “Weather & Seasons Project.” Then practice the weather vocabulary (Flash Cards)
5/17 Practice weather vocabulary (Quizlet.com)
5/18 Sing “La Cucaracha.” (Memorize it to sing for extra credit)
Then practice the “other vocabulary” on the Unit 7 list.
5/19 Practice “La Cucaracha.” (Sing it Monday for extra credit.)
Do “Listening Assessment.” Then discuss and answer unit 7 questions.
(Extra credit if you write complete answers to all of them.)

5/22 Sing “La Cucaracha” for extra credit. Discuss / check answers tothe unit 7 questions.
5/23 Oral Exam – using the unit 7 questions.

(indirect objects, the present progressive, and the imperfect verb tense)

5/18 Sing “De Colores.” (Memorize it to sing for extra credit).
Study final exam questions.
5/19 Sing “De Colores” for extra credit. Discuss / check answers to the final exam questions, THEN PRACTICE FOR ORAL FINAL EXAM.

5/22-23 Oral Final Exam
5/24 RETESTING / MAKEUP FOR ORAL EXAM
