College and Career Week / Life Skills Conference – March 6th through 10th

College and Career

On March 6th through March 10th, Orion Junior High will be having its College and Career Week. Several college and career activities will be taking place each day at the school and at lunch. In addition to College and Career Week, on Friday March 10th, OJH will be having its annual Life Skills Conference where student will learn about different jobs and careers from practicing professionals.

All 7th grade students will be registering for 8th grade on either February 6th or 7th, 2017. Registration appointments will take place during students English classes. If students have Mrs. Wood, they will be registering February 6th during their assigned English class. If student have Mrs. Marks for English, they will be registering February 7th during their assigned English class. Starting November 28th and continuing through January 12th, all 8th grade students and their parents will be meeting with their assigned counselor for their annual Plan for College and Career Readiness (PCCR) meeting. As a counseling department, we are enthusiastic about meeting with all 8th graders in an effort to support and advocate for educational and career steps. This meeting should take about 30 minutes which will cover a variety of topics including grades, test scores, registration, high school graduation, and goals. Red Ribbon – Drug Free Prevention Week – October 24th -28th

Orion Junior High will be celebrating Red Ribbon – Drug Free Week – October 24th -28th. Several activities will be taking place throughout the week including a stomp, pledge to be drug free, games, and much more!

Weber High School in conjunction with Orion Junior High, North Ogden Junior High, and Snow Crest Junior High are pleased to present “Hope Week” – Suicide Prevention Week – October 3rd through 7th.  Several activities will be taking place throughout the week including motivation speakers, activities, and understanding about suicide awareness..



Monday October 3rd: Food Truck Night with live band at Valley Elementary – 5 to 8pm.

Tuesday October 4th: Stand 4 Kind Night at Orion Junior High –  Fizz truck, Jazz Bear, WWE Wrestler Chris Holyfield. 5:30 to 7:30pm.

Wednesday October 5th: Try-It-Knight at North Ogden Junior High  – Bubble Soccer, climbing wall, spike ball, line dancing, food and more!

Thursday October 6th: Alex Boye’ Concert at Weber High – 7 to 9pm. Seating on a first-come/first-serve priority.

Friday October 7th: Weber vs Fremont Football game at Weber High School – 7pm. Awesome prizes given out at half-time!


Students- Remember to bring your student ID to all events to get a wristband!!! If you attend 2 events, and recieve 2 wristbands- you will recieve a FREE Hope Week T-shirt (while supplies last). Students wearing the Hope Week T-shirt to the football game on Friday will get into the game for free.

New Student Registration – August 9th, 10th, 11th


If you are a new student move-in who is planning on attending Orion Junior High, registration will be August 9th – 11th 2016. To set up an appointment, please call OJH’s main office at 801-452-4700.

Lagoon Incentive Activity – Friday May 20th

Orion Junior High students who received a 3.2 GPA with no N’s or U’s 3rd quarter have qualified for the 4th quarter incentive activity. Students who qualified will have the chance to go to Lagoon Amusement Park on Friday May 20th. Cost is $33 for park admission and $4 to ride the bus. Students will leave the school for Lagoon at 8:30am and arrive back at Orion approximately around 5pm. Students are encouraged to bring extra money for food and games. Students must pay to ride the bus in advance to the front office by Friday May 13th. Summer School Classes at Orion

Any 9th grade student who has failed any classes in English or Math has the opportunity to attend summer school at Orion Junior High. Summer school classes will be May 31st to June 3rd.  Cost is $45 is must be paid to the main office before classes start.
