Parent Resources

A parent’s number one priority is always the happiness and success of their child. This is why it is so important for parents to realize that they can be their child’s biggest support in aquiring academic success.

There are several support systems parents need to develop early on. These include:

  • Setting a daily routine of reading with your child for a minimum of 20 minutes a day.  You can read to them or encourage them to read independently (while you listen if they are in kindergarten-second grade).  Either way you choose, the time you spend with them will increase their success immensely!
  • Creating a regular routine of monitoring and checking over your child’s homework before it is turned in to the teacher. Checking your child’s homework gives you a firsthand perspective of what your child understands and what he or she is struggling with so you can encourage supplemental practice at home.
  • Keeping track of your child’s attendance.
