Upcoming Calendar Items

October 22nd, 2014 by sahone

  • 24th No School

  • 22nd Aid to Mexico starts

  • 30th Halloween Carnival

  • 31st  Halloween Parade

There will be a viewing area for parents in the gym.  Please do not wait in the halls because it will obstruct the parade.  We are asking that afternoon Kindergarten students come to school in the morning so they can participate in the parade.

All students are encouraged to parade with their class whether or not they have a costume.  This is for EVERYONE!

The students need to come to school prepared for the Halloween Parade.  It will start shortly after school begins.

After the parade, we encourage the students to dress back into traditional school attire so that it does not have an effect on learning for the rest of the school day.  We also expect traditional classroom behavior for the day.

Please no costumes that have flowing liquids or substances that can leak or cause damage to the school.

No real weapons allowed on school property.

School is on traditional Friday schedule.

  • 2nd  Daylight Savings Ends

  • 5th  Picture Retakes

  • 26th-28th  Thanksgiving Break

Living/Nonliving Science

October 22nd, 2014 by sahone

Here are some pictures from our most recent science challenge… “Can you grow living plants in something nonliving other than soil?”

A lot of students got their seeds to sprout, but we learned that some of the material we used to plant our seeds in did not give the plants enough nutrients to thrive.  Others did really well.  Many of them stunk! LOL

Look how pretty the seeds planted in beads turned out!
